Kimchi Land Day 1

Time check: 6.37am.

It's been extremely long since I woke up so early…

But I'm definitely more excited than zombified. Haha.

En route to the airport now, adventure awaits in the land of Kimchi! πŸ˜πŸ™†

See you all in Seoul! πŸ˜‰

First stop upon touching down: Paris Baguette for some food!!

I didn't eat the food provided on the flight because I was totally knocked out. I don't think that I've ever slept for so long/soundly on any flight before. Or maybe because waking up that early this morning proved too much for me to handle. Hahaha.

My crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside mushroom egg cheese muffin! πŸ˜‹

I'm all prepared to gain some weight on this trip. Lol.

Someone's so excited about his grad trip that he almost choked on his muffin. πŸ˜‚

Had some time in between while waiting for the bus to pick us up, so we went to a booth near Gate 6 to rent this wifi device.

Rented the same device on my last trip and it was really useful! Was contemplating whether we should do so this trip, since many places in Seoul do have wifi. And the last time we rented this, we had to put SGD200 as deposit.

This time round, they only asked for my credit card. I was quite happy because I would rather keep the $200 in my pockets to spend. Hahaha.

The wifi device costs 8800 won per day, in case you're wondering!

On the bus now heading to our guesthouse! Can't wait to drop our bags and start exploring. Heh.

Oh, the weather here is also a lot cooler than I expected! 😌

On a side note, I'm really quite happy that I can update about my trip on Dayre because I usually get lazy to blog about my trips after I get back to Sg. Hahaha. Always procrastinate then in the end miss out on all the details.

Found our way to Big John's Place after alighting at the Ritz Carlton stop!

The Ritz Carlton manager was really helpful. When we alighted he came up to help us with the luggage, and when we told him that we were not guests of RC, he just smiled and asked if we needed help to get to where we needed to go. He even gave us a map and spent some time explaining to us how to get to Big John's Place.

That's really excellent service, am super impressed.

We asked John (the owner of Big John's!) to give us some recommendations for our first meal in Seoul.

He drew us a map and told us the directions to his favourite Korean BBQ place!

We thought we would never find this place!

But we found it just as we were about to give up and go into any decent looking bbq place. Hahah. #mustbefate

This ahjuma is super motherly.

She kept coming over to check on us, taught us how to eat the authentic Korean way and even cooked for us to eat! 😍

Meat, meat and more meat.

We're in meat heaven.

I personally dislike reeking of smoky bbq after a meal, so we ate really quickly and got out of the place as fast as we could. Lol.

But the smell is still damn strong. Oh well. Gotta shower later anyway.

Found a nice cafe and we sat down to plan for our itinerary tomorrow!

Didn't have time to plan beforehand, so we decided to make impromptu plans as we go along. ☺

Mega huge brownie for just SGD7!

Not the kind of dense and chewy brownie which I like, but it'll do!

Thom's standard order.

Cafe Latte. Still the same even though we're overseas. Hahaha.

Back at the guesthouse to rest for the night cos we have an early day tomorrow (7.45am 😨😨) and look at what I found!

Heh hello @melvinlau, @shinekoh and @melissackoh!! Spotted Lili's too! πŸ™†
