Carnival Day! ๐Ÿ‘ฏโ€โ™€๏ธ

Hello friends! It’s finally Friday!!

But this weekend’s gonna be burnt going on a work trip so it’s not much of a difference to me, whether it’s Friday or not. But I’m all excited to see and try on the samples coming up for the summer months ahead! ๐Ÿ˜Œ

It feels weird not doing a Thursday preview post on Dayre for this new collection, not gonna lie.

But I don’t deal with uncertainty and ambiguity well, so until the future direction of Dayre is clear (and perhaps more concrete), you can find me over here. ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

We did a “fun girls day out” shoot at the Prudential Marina Bay Carnival the other day and BOY. It was the toughest photoshoot we’ve ever done in terms of coordinating and shoot conditions, with unexpected issues (and photobombers) popping up here and there. It felt like the longest shoot ever, neverending. Maybe I wasn’t really feeling up to it as well, it being the first shoot after such a long break. Mindset makes the biggest difference!

The photos turned out really well, still. And thank goodness for the fantastic team I had with me, all of whom transformed a less than ideal situation into the gorgeous visuals we eventually got. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

I’m just glad the difficulties and frustrations of that day was not translated onto the photos!

(Honestly, cotton candy makes a sucky photoshoot prop. LOL. So sticky and melts SO DAMN quickly.)

Also, can I just say that it’s awesome that I don’t have to crop my photos into a square anymore???

Cheng suggested shooting at this spot and woahhh the colours!! The whole backdrop just complements this Blush/Scarlet colour so well! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Can’t decide which photo is nicer so I edited both copies. Hehe.

The sun was really crazy that day.

Props to Cheng for looking so effortless and exuding the vibes we wanted, despite baking under the sun for hours! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Tadahhhh the other colour of the pretty pleated colourblock maxi dress – White/Sunshine! โ˜บ๏ธ This one reminds me of the song “Walking On Sunshine”.

I haven’t had the chance to wear this colour out yet but I got a feeling I will, soon. ๐ŸŒป

So difficult to get decent shots in front of the carousel without have people walking into the photos, but cropping helps. Hahaha. ๐Ÿ˜‚

AND AND AND.

Here’re my favourite photos for this maxi dress!!

That ray of sunshine was pure serendipity. It fell in a way which was so, so beautiful. โœจ

In actual fact we were perspiring like mad and seeing stars from being under the heat for too long. Hahaha. Was telling Eileen that I feel like this is our toughest outdoor shoot by far.

Totally self praising here but SO GORGEOUS ain’t it???? ๐Ÿ˜

Giving Navy/Sage Green some love as well!

Super torn on which piece to keep because I spent a considerable amount time conceptualising the colour combinations and ALL THREE colours are like my babies.

I thought of having three colour combinations to represent SERENITY / LOVE / JOY respectively. Don’t ask me why I thought of those words. They just happened to pop into my mind when I was deciding on the colours of the dress so I went with that!

Serenity – This colour combination has to conjure up feelings of being serene and at peace, so I went with a calming Navy, and instead of grey or white or pink like we usually would pair with Navy, I decided on Sage Green because it reminds me of nature. And I always feel so peaceful when I’m surrounded by nature and foliage.

(Woohoo, hello Sticky Friend!!)

I sent this happy dress to her as her birthday dress earlier in Feb.

She’s really a vision of joy in this outfit, don’t you think?

Joy – Placed White on top and Sunshine at the bottom so the wearer of this dress will always feel like she’s walking on sunshine. โ˜€๏ธ I hope this colour combination brings cheer and hope to the wearer!

Love – This colour combination is my interpretation of love. Love should be rosy, Love should make you flush with happiness, Love should be both steadfast and passionate. ๐Ÿ’–

I had so much fun twirling around when I took my OOTDs for this dress!

๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿผ

It’s been loooooong since our last Ascend collection because we were busy pushing out our festive collection. But we’re back with them again!

Decided to take some try-on photos and videos (on my ig stories) instead of ootds for a change! Videos are a totally new thing for me and I’m not so good at doing them yet, but it’s interesting cause you can see different angles and the movement of the fabric! Maybe I’ll make it a regular preview feature? Heh.

Folded the sleeves and paired it with ripped jeans for a less formal look!

The other colours for the blouse!

I think my factory did a fab job with the ruffles on this piece! The initial sample didn’t make me too happy (cause the ruffles were miserable) but we decided on a change of material and I’m happy with how it looks now. ๐Ÿ˜Š

My favourite part of this dress is how it flaunts the waist without being body hugging! Some of you working ladies have feedback to us that you prefer dresses with more allowances at the waist and hips so here’s telling you – we hear you. ๐Ÿ™‚

This is really comfortable yet work appropriate!

Lastly, we have a crochet skirt coming up this Sunday!

Already stocked this in since before CNY, finally getting around to launching it online. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

I wore this skirt in Forest Green but forgot to snap a photo, pop over to my ig stories to check it out? Heh.

New backorders opened!!! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ

It’s Fridayyyy and due to a rather surprising and totally unexpected turn of events, I’m at home right now instead of being on an aircraft heading for a work trip. I was all ready to slog my weekends away… But ไธ่ฏดไบ† ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Not that I’m really complaining tho. I HAVE MY WEEKENDS BACK! ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒ
